District Court Judge André Birotte Jr., an appointee of Barack Hussein Obama, has reportedly ruled that the family-owned digital streaming service VidAngel must fork over $62.4 million to several large Hollywood studios for the “crime” of editing out sex, violence, bad language, and other filth from mainstream television shows and movies.
Even as Facebook continues to unlawfully censor content willy-nilly without consequence, VidAngel is now being punished for trying to clean up Hollywood entertainment and make it more family-friendly by cutting out all of the perversion.
According to reports, Disney, Lucasfilm, Warner Bros., and 20th Century Fox, all of which have been trying to destroy VidAngel for many years now, will soon be divvying up this $62.4 million judgment among themselves – assuming VidAngel is unsuccessful with its planned appeal of the ruling.
Back in March, a federal judge decided that VidAngel had violated “copyright laws” by allowing users of its service to watch Hollywood movies and television shows with all of the violence, sexuality, and profanity removed. This latest ruling sets the amount of damages owed for this violation – an amount that’s likely to put VidAngel out of business.
It’s important to point out, here, that VidAngel already had to file for bankruptcy back in 2017 because of this ongoing legal battle with Hollywood, which has been going on for years. Hollywood had repeatedly refused to license any of its content to VidAngel, in direct violation of the 2005 Family Movie Act.
VidAngel responded by trying to do the right thing a different way, purchasing Hollywood content directly in accordance with consumer licensing agreements. ButVidAngel apparently got snagged in a legal technicality, which Hollywood used to its advantage at just the right moment in order to swoop in for the kill.
“We disagree with today’s ruling and have not lessened our resolve to save filtering for families one iota,” revealed VidAngel CEO Neal Harmon in a statement following the most recent ruling.
“VidAngel plans to appeal the District Court ruling, and explore options in the bankruptcy court. Our court system has checks and balances, and we are pursuing options on that front as well.”

The reason why Congress enacted the Family Movie Act back in 2005, by the way, was to protect companies like VidAngel from being targeted like this simply for trying to shield the American public, and especially American children, from being exposed to Hollywood filth.
The Family Movie Act of 2005 specifically protects companies like VidAngel that “transmit” content online – though the current legal system apparently disregards this part of the law, and has completely turned it on its head in order to further enrich the vulturous Hollywood brain-washers responsible for destroying Western society.
“Congress now needs to step up and modernize the Family Movie Act to make sure that the courts understand this type of filtering,” says Tim Winter, president of the Parents Television Council, who expressed extreme outrage that “lawyers for a multi-billion dollar company were able to squash a little mom-and-pop startup like a bug.”
“Why would they say ‘transmit’ in the original Family Movie Act if they didn’t mean transmit?” he added. “It’s angering that we worked so hard to pass that law in ’05. We were successful against the forces of Hollywood. And now the forces of Hollywood are preventing companies from actually abiding by that.”
Meanwhile, big Hollywood studios are gloating about their victory, as if they somehow are maintaining the moral high ground.
“Winter hopes that VidAngel is ultimately successful because it was providing an alternative from the soul rot offered by Hollywood companies that are infamous for allowing sexual abuse, including the victimization of children,” writes Shane Trejo for Big League Politics.
